Currently playing

for the last full week of october 2011 i have recieved 2 games in the mail and have been playing them off and on... and those games are
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2
Genji Days of The Blade
so first off lets talk a little about these games. i already mentioned what i felt so far about Genji so i wont get into that one as much as i will with Ghost Recon 2.  well Ghost Recon is a strange game to me at least. Its alot of something im just not used to. I like how its kind of like SOCOM with the 4 man squad and you can give them orders, but i dont like how you give them. its simple but annoyingly complex,
i know that doesnt make sence but its just unnatural the way you do this. the combat is good but if you fuck up once your dead end of story which i actually like for some reason. one thing i really dont like is the cover system and the aiming system i explain more when i review the game.
Genji, i dont know if im even liking this game to be honest. The gameplay is just a little awkward and still the movesets suck ass. the story i admit i have been skipping due to how boring the story is. other than that there is really not much to say about this game, i may not even review it because i woudlnt even know what to say about it.
anyway we will see what happens next

5 minute impressions. Genji days of the blade

so far so meh

going into this game i had no idea what the hell i was even playing, but i kept hearing things like "with gameplay like dynasty warriors" and other random shit. i decided to give it a try, due to i like dynasty warriors.

so i put the game into the system install the game which i dont mind doing
then i start playing Imediantly i thought i was playing onimusha. i thought nothing about dynasty warriors because it doesnt look or play like it. it plays exactly like a onimusha clone. the graphics are surprisingly decent even though this is a really old game for the ps3. what im annoyed with is that the combo system doesnt seem to exist (yet) and you cant move/change the camera angle witch i dont hate but its just annoying. other than that i dont have to much to say about this game yet

Hello, Gamers! :)

I'm a new author for Fox_Parasyte's blog as shown in the previous post.

My name is Cassidy and unlike Fox, I play RPGs. I prefer J-RPGs over American, but I am picky with my games. For example, I don't care too much for the "3-D Model" crap where everything just looks too, I don't know, blotchy to me:

(Tales of Vesperia)

Another that I don't care much for would be the "line shading", which I call it :

(Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 2)

I know that the storyline matters, but nowadays, they're so generic that you can't help but pick apart the whole game.

Games I enjoy are "older," I guess for the most part. I love Square Soft; more so, PlayStation 1 Square Soft. Back then, they actually took time to make the game good, to me. The story-lines, characters, scenery, everything was amazing and so well put together. What happened? I only adore a a seldom few by Square Enix. Star Ocean is the main series published by them which I relish. Don't get me wrong, I love Final Fantasy, but it's becoming too narrow of a game.

My favorite game has to be, Chrono Cross. A PlayStation 1 game that stole my heart after playing it. Sadly, people who are huge fans of Chrono Trigger seen to have enmity towards it. They have bashed this game to a pulp, just because they thought it was supposed to be a true sequel. UGH! I'm going to go on a rampage if I continue on!

Anyway, you'll be seeing more RPG related subjects now; most likely only from me! Hope you enjoy.

Blood Drive Review

The Perfect Example of Why Zombies Shouldn't be in Everything.

When i first put this game into my PS3 I was thinking Blood Drive? huh what the hell is this crap. well its basically like a really crappy version of Twisted Metal with zombies. i mean sure when you think about it a car destroying game with zombies kinda sounds cool. however the creators really dropped the ball on this one.

so when you first start the game you get a choice of the tournament mode, challenge mode, single event WHICH YOU CANT EVEN PLAY (ill explain why very soon) and the multiplayer. like i said before there is no story whatsoever, when you click the tournament you go right into picking the levels and your player. that's it no introduction, no tutorial nothing your thrown right into the game and your shooting other cars and zombies trying to either rack up kills or points.

the single event, hmm so what is this? well simple you pick a map and a game type and there you go you play it, isnt that normally a standard thing? well apparently not, because you cannot play it, its fucking locked!? so how are you able to even play this, oh well you have to beat a challenge in the challenge mode in order to do any single event at all. also some of them are hard as hell, not all of them but a good 3 out of 5 of them are very annoyingly hard. Never and i mean NEVER have i seen such a stupid ass idea.

the problem is the game is horrendous, weather its the sluggish controls, the emotionless characters, lack of any story at all, and just the simple fact that its more repetitive then watching sit coms all day. you do get a OK amount of cars/people to play as with there own special attacks and stats, but they really aren't anything special. I will admit though some of the levels you play on are absolutely amazing, however most of the weaponry is really bad, while some seem to powerful, others barely do any sort of damage. and the zombies not only hurt you but if you run into a zombie your car bounces off of them and it screws your driving up.

did i mention they never explain why there are zombies to begin with?

Its cool that they tried to make a kinda Twisted Metal style game but god damn this was a failed experiment. i will say this though, if this game was a psn or xbla game for like 15 bucks i wouldn't be so strict on this but the fact that this game came out with a retail of 60 bucks is insulting.....

Welcome Welcome Welcome

New Author
Kasu.Shide

i am very happy to announce a new author on fox parasyte's world of gaming, who just happens to be my fiance. (which the title might me changed sooner or later due to its not just me)

Anyway, i cant exactly say what she will be posting on the site, but i can tell you what she plays, which is very different from what i play. so that might attract a totally different audience which is cool.

She does play alot of RPG's like alot lol, whether its old or new a good 8 times out of 10 games I've ever seen her play are RPG styled games, which it perfectly fine absolutely nothing wrong with that. i actually introduced her to white knight chronicles and she loved it, she also likes final fantasy, chrono cross, star ocean, and many more games.

Now we may see some Manga reviews/talking about them from her, i don't know this for sure, but that would be kinda cool. which again would be different and i like that. so we will see what is in store from her and i am excited that she was so willing to hop on here to write, welcome.

Gaming Accessory Review

Tritton AX-180 stereo Gaming Headset
works with the PS3 360 MAC & PC (wii not sure)

This is the first gaming headset i've ever had, and i must say i was very impressed. i say was because i have upgraded to a turtle beach px21 but thats for another time. first off the ax 180 has surround sound however i do not believe it to be a dolby 5.1 or higher, i think its just a surround sound stereo speaker. if that makes sence haha,

so this headset retails about 60 bucks but i never buy things like this retail so i got it for 40, i like to be smart when i buy things. Anyway this heaset comes with everything you need to start playing your games on your tv with the sound coming out through the headset. i happen to love this due to the fact im not the only one who lives in my house and id rather not get them pissed off becasue i like my tv loud.

overall sound quality is good, the mic works good, and it fits on the head very well, there is a mic mute and 2 seperate dials for chat and game sound, however this is definitly a headset for someone who's never had one before. i say this because i upgraded to the px21 i would never ever go back to this one, not that the AX180 is crap, its just obsolete compared to the px21. there is one thing that is kinda annoying about the AX180, and thats the lack of a seperate dial to adjust the bass, the bass gets higher as the volume does.

so anyway this is a must have for anyone whose never had a gaming headset i would give it a 6.5 out of 10.

white knight chronicles, why i cant review it 100%

Time Investing I Cant Afford

Believe me i love me some white knight, however because I'm renting this game i wont review it, i might in the future if i buy it or something. the reason why is i cannot invest 50 hours into a game that i am renting, doesn't matter if its a RPG, shooter, anything. Its just i don't wanna waste my time on one game for my monthly rentals. which makes a whole lot of sense to me.

i will say this though, from what i did play from white knight was awesome, i loved the combat system, the AI is good and so are your allies. the custom character creator was a little weird at first but i got used to it. it has humor and is serious when it needs to be.

id say if you like rpg's you'd probably like this. its nothing like final fantasy or anything ive played before, and ill be honest im not a big fan of rpgs, in fact i avoid them, but after playing this game i might just play a few more.

medal of honor: vanguard review

MOH AIRBORNE
    5 OUT OF 10
medal of honor vanguard is a simple game, i don't believe it was trying to compete with any game. i think they just wanted to release this game for the wii then put it on the other systems such as the ps2

this game in general is very bland, there isnt anything unique about it, all the characters look like shit, the graphics look really odd, everything is like bright for no reason, the clothing on the enemies as well as the allies is awkward because its not really accurate. the gun-play is decent its not awful at all it fits for the ps2 and wii but i hate that you cant move while you aim.

There is something that surprises me, this game seems like a beta for MOH airborne because this game came out before hand and the next game that game out after vanguard i believe WAS airborne. which is far superior to vanguard, controls and dynamics.

if you wanna play a good MOH try Frontline, or maybe airborne, MOH for the ps3 and 360 isnt half bad either. this one however is very forgettable and unless you really want every MOH game out there, i would kinda stay away from this one, unless you wanna rent it, that's understandable then.
